'Catastrophic' Hurricane Dorian turns into category 5, NHC says

Tropical storm Dorian has been raised to a classification 5 tempest, the National Hurricane Center tweeted on Sunday morning.

"#Dorian is presently a classification 5 #hurricane with 160 mph continued breezes. The eyewall of this disastrous sea tempest is going to hit the Abaco Islands with pulverizing winds," the tweet read.

A great many inhabitants along the Southeastern U.S. coast are on high alert in the midst of admonitions the tempest would move upper east in the wake of battering the Bahamas, undermining Florida and the Carolinas.
